Policy Labs for Multi-stakeholder Engagement on Social Protection in MENA

Focusing on social policy in Jordan, Lebanon, and Tunisia, the project is invested in promoting social policy that reflects the specific needs of the end-users; including those who have been disenfranchised by previous policies such as the old, the poor, and the disabled.

Strengthening social protection, safety and welfare in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region

The MENASP-CP Network project is led by the MENA Social Policy Network (University of Bath) in partnership with the Overseas Development Institute (ODI). Funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council’s Global Challenges Research Fund, the project brings together a host of UK and international research leaders and partner organisations to undertake an ambitious programme of cross-disciplinary innovation and capability development in the governance of social policy in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA).

The UK Arts and Humanities Research Council Development Award

Background:

The AHRC Development Award is a project led by Rana Jawad in collaboration with MENASP network partners. The 12 month grant from the Arts and Humanities Research Council will fund a strategic programme of network development activities in the MENA region. These include building strategic partnerships in the region, research capacity building and spin-off research activities.
