Dr Rachel Forrester-Jones is Professor and Director of the School of Health Studies at the University of Western Ontario, Canada and Honorary Professor of Social Policy at the University of Bath, UK. Rachel’s research scans the life course of people with mental health problems and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from early transitions to death and bereavement. She has published widely and provides consultancy to local, national and international authorities, charities and NGOs. She has been Chair of research ethics committees in two Higher Education institutions and is currently editing a book on research ethics – Forrester-Jones, R. (forthcoming) (Ed) Handbook on Research Ethics in the Social Sciences, Edward Elgar Publishing.
